This fine post is going to be dedicated to what I so lovingly refer to as "My headaches".

I have had migraines since the beginning of time and it has only been in the past 10 years that a doctor has given me something for the headache itself, not just for the pain. Although, Darvocet rocks!

If I take an Imitrex before the headache gets very bad, I'm golden. But if I hem-haw around thinking it will go away and don't take action, when I do take action, I have to wait THAT MUCH LONGER for the ache to go away. Have I learned? Evidently not. My insurance covers the Imitrex so it isn't like I'm spending big bucks for this pill. I will say thank you insurance company for this, but when I have to get my birth control patch...*shaking fist* damn you insurance company! But I digress...

The other night I woke up with the baddest ass headache I have had in years. I usually wake up when it is just a wee bit of a thing and can deal with it, but this one was NASTY! I took a pill and went back to bed, but, alas, it was not to be. I ended up going down stairs and throwing up. That's how bad it hurt. I popped another pill and went to lay down on the couch. Nope, can't lay down. Hurts to bad. Recliner? Nope. Floor? Nope. Sitting on the floor and leaning on a stack of pillows that was sitting on the couch? Nope.

I wound up propping myself up on the couch and snoozing for a bit. When I woke up, I felt okay, but as soon as I moved my head, ACK! Off to the bathroom to throw up again and then just more of the same trying to get back to sleep. I don't remember much more.

Last night I woke up with a wee one and was going to go back to sleep to try to sleep it off, but then I got to thinking, "Ya know, it is storming to beat the band out there. If we wind up having to go to the hidey-hole, I will be stuck in there with a migraine and without a pill." Needless to say, I was in the bathroom and popping that pill in record time.

If you don't get these headaches, drop to your knees and thank whoever you pray to that you don't. And then see if he/she/it would ease up on mine.

Other than that...life is good.
