Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2004 - 2:10 p.m. Okay, okay! I'm updating my page! Woohoo! So I had the surgery. You know how on TV they show you the before and then a few months later? Well, if they showed you the in-between, there may not be as many people getting this thing done! Not pleasant at all. I couldn't lay flat so I slept in the recliner for 10 nights. And since I couldn't take a shower for five days, we may have to get the thing steam cleaned! I couldn't straighten up so I walked around like a 90 year old woman and forget about reaching up high for anything! But I'm better now, thank you. I even pitched horseshoes at the family reunion this past weekend. Here is my cousin, Donnice, and Matt playing.
My aunt and I managed to beat the reigning champions! We rock. We would get up in the morning, play horseshoes until it warmed up, go to the "big room" and play cards until it started cooling off, then go back out and play horseshoes until it got dark, then go back to the big room for some more cards. I won $12! We also ate. A lot. David is supposed to come home this weekend! I got us tickets to go see The Who's Tommy in Tulsa this weekend. He loves that movie. It is a bit weird for me. Only 172 more days until he gets done with this assignment. Everytime we talk, we go, "What were we thinking?!?!" At least he wasn't sent overseas. Bless all of the families who have to deal with that. Not much else going on. Chris started Pre-K at the "big school" and so he is trying to adjust to that. He didn't want to go because that school isn't "cool". Whatever. I guess I didn't realize I had a "cool" kid. He tells me about all of the fun they have and what games and songs they have learned, but if you ask if he is liking the school....uh...not so much. So that's that.
