Wednesday, May. 18, 2005 - 10:32 a.m. On the way home last night, I went through the drive-thru at one of our National Chain fast food places. They have a new item on their menu I have been wanting to try. Let's just call it the Salad of Walnuts and Fruit. Now, let's examine what it was I paid $3.19 (plus tax) for... Eleven (11) slices of green and red apples. Not 11 slices each, 11 slices total. And they weren't very thick slices. Seven (7) grapes. Minus the one the hubby ate. A teeny pack of walnuts. A tiny plastic container of plain yogurt. Maybe a slighly heaping tablespoon. Maybe. Is that $3.19 worth of food? I think not. And I think I won't be buying that again. Evah. Do you know how many Happy Hour 50¢ Little Joes you can get for that? Three divided by...carry the...move the decimal...SIX. Six Little Joes. Mmmm. Now I'm hungry.
